A quote from Shekinah’s website on what they do:

”Shekinah believes that each of us wants to live an ordinary, good life, and achieving this for everyone is a matter of social justice. For over 30 years, our services have supported people to build positive lives and futures by helping to find accommodation, assisting improved physical and mental wellbeing, providing training and personal development opportunities, and giving practical support to find employment.”

“The support we receive from Churches is vital as it helps us to support people on their journey out of homelessness. Through fundraising, campaigning, awareness-raising and prayer, you are helping to improve the lives of people who are navigating through their own set of challenges. We are hugely grateful for your support, any way you can get involved will make a big difference.”

How can you support Shekinah?

1. Volunteering

  • help out at centres in Torbay or Plymouth

  • volunteer in charity shops (and/ or donate your clothes)

  • assist with painting and maintenance

  • other short or longer term commitments

To explore these opportunities, contact Shekinah by phone or email (as above) or complete this volunteer application form

2. Fundraising

  • raise awareness about the challenges faced by vulnerable populations in our area, and help to support the work of such an important charity.

  • set yourself a challenge (whether that is through running, cold sea swimming, fundraising sports days or quiz nights, etc!)

  • offer your own resources and venues for training sessions

See this page for more information on how you can fundraise! (link to our website page on that?!)
